The voice of an Angel

These days, I’m focusing on my research work though mostly in fits and stunts. It’s hard to stay focused all the time considering “life” which is becoming more and more complicated day by day. I believe I can do some great stuff for the world but the problem is that I don’t have enough guts and I’m a little lazy. Well, adulthood- I guess it just crept up on me and all the schooling in the world could not have prepared me for the bulk of contradictory emotions within me!! .

I’m sure, you all know the song called Angel by Sarah McLachlan which originally appeared on her 1997 album ‘Surfacing’. The song (posted below) is an opera version performed by Faryl Smith in the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent 2008. It is hard to believe she is just 12 years old. She has signed the most valuable contract ever awarded to such a young artist - a multi-album deal worth £2.3 million.

I'm not a big fan of opera, but I really like this song. Every time I listen to this song, I am deeply touched and it takes me to a different place.“I believe this song addresses the moment we all have felt when we wish we had a second chance, when we find ourselves in the depths of regret for something we never did and things we did do”. (Sarah Lisle)

Check out the song below and I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

Wowee, this little girl's voice just blows me away. What an amazing voice and she's only 12? Thank you for bringing this up. Btw I like opera though mostly in small doses.

All the best with your research work. And yes, you have what it takes to do some great stuff for the world. Just believe in yourself and don't be lazy...kha kha a poimoh bon.

I do agree - life is becoming more and more complicated every day. And adulthood creeping up on us !!! It's so hard to accept that one is seen as adult by the world when inside you still feel like seventeen...ok not seventeen but maybe twenty.

Beautiful song, indeed.

Hotupa, got your orkut message, but I dont have the time login there these days. Ka hman thlawt lo :-(

So I'll just reply here... yeah was planning to take a trip and stay at Jeru's place and meet you all for the weekend, but now the plan seems to be meeting a roadblock as the April leave I was planning to take is for almost 30 days (I didnt know weekends were included in a long leave!!! a mak lutuk, but supposedly it is the company policy here in India for most pvt organizations) So I thot I took a leave of just 20 days as I didnt count the weekends and national holidays. Hence with 30 leaves already gone, its gonna be tough for me to come there as I need at least friday and monday leave too if I am to spend the weekend with you guys...

anyway lets see, and I'll definitely keep u guys posted. And thanx a lot for that generous offer!!!! Rawn kal i ti chakawm leh zual! :-)

can't listen to the song as I'm in the Reading Room n didn't carry my head phone. The song, U Tai, is so deep I can't stray away from this comment box without leaving a mark:-)

I'll never beg anyone to remember me...with time wen u feel u've compensated enough for all the sh** that u've done, ur heart stops beating for that 'forever someone'. It can happen...n wen that time comes,u'l no more weep for the memories,or yearn for the future. And that's when u get stuck in the middle of nowhere wanting no one, missing no one.....a freelancer LOL! u scared?:P

sawmpuia: it could mean a number of things. Like I said before, - I like this song because of the beautiful tune and my admiration for Faryl Smith. This song is more about drug addiction than love. o.k

No trouble at all!
